Sanjay Uppal
CEO & Co-Founder
Sanjay is the CEO and co-founder of VeloCloud where he leads the team that is working to Re-Invent WAN and transform how businesses connect. Prior to VeloCloud, Sanjay ran publicly traded OnMobile Global, serving as its President and COO. Sanjay also spent time at Citrix through the acquisition he negotiated with Caymas where he was President and CEO. At Citrix, he defined the product strategy and go to market for the Access Management, Delivery Controller and WAN acceleration product lines. Prior, Sanjay served in executive roles at Webvan (Vice President of Engineering and Business Development) and at Hewlett-Packard where he initiated and rapidly grew Internet Infrastructure as a profitable new business for HP. He holds an MS from Stanford University, an MS from the University of Wisconsin, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from The Indian Institute of Technology
Sanjay is involved in the application of internet and mobile technology to solve energy problems in emerging countries. He also enjoys bicycling, running, gadgets, watching cult movies (The Big Lebowski), and gardening with his family.

Ajit Mayya
VP of Engineering, Co-Founder
Ajit leads the talented development team that is working to Re-Invent WAN. Prior to co-founding VeloCloud, he was the Vice President of Engineering for YouWeb, an incubator of successful mobile technology companies including iSwifter/Agawi. He also spent time at VMWare as Sr. Director of Engineering in the Cloud and Infrastructure Management division where he was responsible for delivering the first version of VMware vCenter API, vCenter and award winning products like VMware Site Recovery Manager. He also spent time at BroadOn Communications as Vice President of Product Development and at WebVan as Vice President of Software Development. Prior, he held senior management and engineering positions at Healtheon/WebMd, Silicon Graphics and Hewlett Packard. He holds a MS in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, and BS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology.
In his spare time, Ajit can be found playing with his kids and dreaming about returning to his hiking and mountaineering days. His favorite quote of all time is from George Mallory. When asked “Why do you want to climb Mount Everest?” the climber famously answered “Because it’s there.”

Steve Woo
VP Products & Co-founder
Steve co-founded VeloCloud and leads product and marketing strategy. Prior, he lead the cloud strategy at Aerohive Networks after it acquired Pareto Networks, a cloud-based networking innovator, where he was VP of Product Management. Steve also spent time as VP of Product Management at McAfee, where he led the development of a next generation firewall after McAfee acquired Secure Computing / Securify where he was VP of Products. Steve worked for Cisco Systems twice, after acquisitions of two companies where he was an executive (Riverhead Networks and Class Data Systems) that resulted in 50x return on investment to investors. Early in his career he worked at SynOptics Communications / Bay Networks where his product line generated $1.7 billion of cumulative revenue, and he also spent time at McKinsey & Company. Steve has an MBA and MSEE from Stanford, and a BSEE from Cornell.
Steve is a passionate tennis player and spectator. He fearlessly participates in all manner of sports with his sons that he probably shouldn’t, including snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, ATVing and others, that have earned him many weekend warrior injuries, but priceless memories.

Dr. Tom Speeter
Chief Engineer & Architect
Tom brings deep experience in distributed systems, databases and enterprise software to VeloCloud. Prior to joining Velocloud, Tom worked at Ringcube Systems in the position of Chief Architect, leading to its acquisition by Citrix in 2011. Before Ringcube, he founded Cendura, a configuration and systems management company in 2001 which was acquired by CA in 2006. He is a Silicon Valley veteran having worked in technology startups for over twenty years. Prior to moving to Silicon Valley, he was Principal Investigator in the Machine Perception Research Department at Bell Laboratories. He has founded, invested in and helped to grow the teams of multiple venture backed companies. He holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Control from Case Western Reserve University, a M.S.C.E from the University of Southern California, and a B.S.C.E from Michigan State University.
Tom gets great satisfaction working with entrepreneurs and helping solve the hardest business problems through transformative technologies.
